Charities

Instead of giving gifts, we also invite you to donate to one of these charities in honor of our marriage:

Heifer International is an organization that works to end world hunger by providing families and individuals in need with the ability to support themselves through farming and animal husbandry. They provide food-producing animals and plants (such as flocks of chicks, goats, trees, honeybees, and more) and training so that these families can raise their own food and eventually sell to others. We have chosen this charity because our own little garden is special to us and because, at our wedding, we are  planting the seeds of a happy future together. The resources that this organization provides can empower other couples and families by giving them a new beginning in their lives too. [Donate]

The Southern Poverty Law Center works for social justice by ending hate in the United States. They use education, advocacy, research, and legal representation to ensure that everyone's civil rights are protected. Their special causes include protecting the rights and dignity of at-risk children, immigrants, the LGBT community, and people of all races and ethnic backgrounds. This charity is meaningful to us on our wedding day because this is a day when we will celebrate our love, and it seems fitting to do something to fight hate on a day that is all about love. We'll also be exercising our civil right to marry, and this is a good time for us to reflect on how we can work to protect the civil rights and human rights of all people in our community and in our world.  [Donate]
